Hey Shoreliners - don't forget - this Saturday, 7:00 a.m. from Panera West. 9 miles (whoo hooo - you can do it!). You can slow down the pace, take walk breaks, and I'll make sure we have plenty water, etc., set out. This would be a good time to try using energy gels if you haven't already....take one about mile 4 or 5 - the flavors, varieties are endless. Me? I love the margarita Clif Shot Blocks (surprise surprise!). For just 30 seconds I can imagine I'm in Mexico on some beach, some where......

I'll post the route on Thursday for this week's training session. Be sure to get in at least two good runs this week of about 4-5 miles each.

Try a Tempo Run this week: In one of the runs, try running easy for mile one - then run the next three miles at the pace you ran for Abe's Amble. Then do a cool down easy mile.

See ya Saturday!

I'd like to run the Shoreline Classic. I ran in Abe's Amble but I haven't ran 9 miles before. Is the 7:00 a.m. Saturday run open to everyone?

All runs are open to everyone! All speeds are welcome!

Holly is right! We have a variety of paces, but most important - we're all out there doing the same thing. Whether you are a lead dog, bringing up the rear, or somewhere smack dab in the middle, you're part of our group and covering the same distance.

Study the route, run at your own pace, and stay motivated to just do your best.

Cause if it were easy - EVERYONE would be doing it!

See ya Saturday - oh, and can someone bring a camera and take a picture or two for the blog? Mine went to college with my daughter (and of course, my $ went with her too!). I'm shopping, just waiting for the right one to come along!
