Abe's Army is moving to Monday nights!
Training will be held on Monday nights starting June 1st, 2009 at 5:45 p.m. For some of you, this is a change for our previous Tuesday night runs. Moving to Mondays nights will allow us to get back into the cemetery (which we have not been able to do the last few years).
Runners will be broken down into groups of Privates and Corporals. Privates are new runners and Corporals are more experienced runners who can complete more than 3 miles. Privates will meet at Lincoln Park and Corporals will meet at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on Monday evenings. We will still have walking groups and Brent Bohlen is be back again to lead the race walkers! The walkers will also meet at Lincoln Park. Each group will be lead by a team of Sergeants (leaders)– who areexperienced runners helping you meet your goals.
Runners will follow a newly revised training plan which includes a long run on Saturday and shorter runs during the week, one being our Monday night work-out.
We again are looking for dedicated leadership!
Anyone with running experience and a desire to lead others especially someone who is an Abe’s Army graduate would be a perfect candidate to be a leader.
Important dates to remember:
